We're best friends who combined our love of gardening + floral design to create something magical right in the middle of downtown Lansing. We travel around the state bringing to life dreamy, romantic and truly unforgettable events and floral experiences.
Our beautiful gardens are our biggest inspiration, but we believe that a great design is in the details: curated color palettes, lots of texture, lush greenery - and attention to every little detail!
How Sparrow Bloom Got Started
In the summer of 2019, before Sparrow Bloom Co. was even a blip on our radar, we had planned to grow flowers to create lush bouquets straight from the garden for Becca’s son’s wedding the following year.
Then in May 2020, after being apart for over a month due to Covid, Sparrow Bloom Co. came to life! On our first night back together we decided to start something beautiful and share flowers with our community when it seemed to need some joy the most.
Within an hour we had a name, a logo, social media, and branding. It all fell into place like magic!
All creative designing happens around our kitchen tables, amidst our everyday lives. We style arrangements year-round, but summertime is extra sweet. We grow as many flowers as possible on less than 900 square feet in the middle of the city. We cram flowers into every nook and cranny we possibly can!
Welcome, I’m Becca!
As the lead designer, I love making every magical design come to life. Seeing a bride’s face light up when they see their flowers for the first time is such a special experience! When I’m not working with flowers, you’ll find me in my early childhood autism spectrum disorder classroom where I am a special education teacher to my absolute, most favorite tiniest human beings!!
I’m passionate about creating whimsical designs right from our garden or from other local growers!!
I love traveling with my husband to visit and spend time with our adult children, as well as sweet cozy movie nights at home with our daughter! Some of my favorite things are fun shoes (especially if I find a good sale), big earrings and spending some sweet summer days at my parents' lake home in northern Minnesota.
Hi, I’m Kait!
As the head flower grower, I love meticulously creating dreamy garden color palettes that are perfect for your special day. I love it so much that I even took over my amazing neighbor’s yard! When I’m not frolicking through the garden, I love snuggling up on the couch to work on nerdy website stuff and creating a community with other local small businesses.
I’m passionate about creating systems to help our business thrive and am multi-tasker to the core. I absolutely love spending time with my family and having a good time exploring all the Lansing area has to offer. Some of her favorite things are hanging out on my porch, big coffee mugs, and listening to audiobooks while I work.
