Locally Grown Flowers
Sparrow Bloom started in 2020 with us growing our own flowers! That first year, everything came from our gardens. What started as 400 square feet quickly expanded to our entire yard, as well as our amazing neighbors yard! Our gardens are a little urban oasis blooming with zinnias, cosmos and more!
Growing our own flowers continues to be a huge part of our business, as well as sourcing flowers from other local growers. It helps us reduce our carbon footprint and our garden provides a home base for bees, butterflies, and all sorts of beneficial insects.
We use as many locally grown flowers in our floral designs as possible – these flowers are our pride and joy!

Our Garden Wrapped Bouquet is filled exclusively with blooms grown in Mid-Michigan.
Inside Our Garden
Kait is our head gardener here at Sparrow Bloom. She uses that term very loosely since she likes to make things as easy as possible! By no means are we large scale flower farmers. She’s always on the lookout for gorgeous dahlias varieties and unique colors of our favorite (easy to grow) flower varieties. We pride ourselves on using restorative practices and planting native flower varieties alongside our cut flowers to provide habitats for all those little bees and butterflies.
If you want to see what’s growing right now, we are always sharing the garden over in our Instagram stories. We’re super proud of our locally grown flowers - we can’t wait to share them with you!
Our Local Partner Farms
We are proud to partner with Mid-Michigan flower farmers to help grow their businesses. Most of the flower farms we support are also woman-owned and operated, like Farmyard Blooms, Carpe Dahlia Flower Farm, and many growers at the Michigan Flower Barn. It’s not only supporting other local businesses and families, providing fair, livable wages for those who work on their farms, providing for their families, and investing in their children’s future.
Sourcing as many flowers locally as possible helps the environment through sustainable farming practices - plus you get the freshest possible! This means that the flowers will be getting their close up in your bouquet within 24-48 hours of harvest.
