Joyful Zingerman’s Cornman Farms Wedding

Bride and groom at Zingerman's Cornman Farms Wedding

Larissa + Michael’s Zingerman’s Cornman Farms wedding was one we will always remember! An outdoor wedding in November in Michigan is a always risk, but it was totally worth it for their gorgeous ceremony filled with so much love and joy.

We loved Larissa + Michael’s dedication to their families during their ceremony. Their relationship was so special and they were included in every aspect of their wedding day. One of the unique things they did that was so sweet was to have their flower girl pass out flowers to guests as she went down the aisle. After the wedding, it was so cute because the kids were all just playing together around the farm. It’s one of those moments we know they will remember for a lifetime.

Zingerman’s Cornman Farms Wedding Ceremony in Front of Farmhouse

As their florist, we loved creating a floral installation on the front of the farmhouse! This has been a dream project for a while, so when we got the chance we were so excited to bring it to life.

With any outdoor wedding, we always bring a backup arch with us in case the weather decides to make the couple change ceremony locations at the last minute. We really thought that this might be the first time we would have to use it, but by nothing short of a miracle, we were able to dodge raindrops and bring their floral dream to life. However, during the reception, the winds reached record breaking heights and their wedding planner, Jennifer, told us she was so impressed only one flower blew away.

Wedding Reception at Zingerman’s Cornman Farms

We think the second most memorable moment of this wedding was their reception! After the ceremony, it was like the sky opened up and galeforce winds took over. After all the speeches were given, the reception had to be relocated from their gorgeous outdoor tent into the barn, but not before the tent poles nearly took flight. It was a wild one!

The reception had long tables lining both sides of the tent, round tables scattered throughout, and strung lights to give it a magical feel. The long farmhouse tables were covered in white linens, lush greenery, bud vases filled with fall flowers, and candles.

We love when couples choose greenery and bud vases for long tables because can add lots of dimension for the table scape with the different heights and layers of flowers. Bud vases are also amazing because you have the opportunity to use so many different flowers and textures.

So, not only are you providing dimension from heights and layers, you are providing something that’s visual to the eye because if all the textures and movement it can create. It gives a cozy feel and guests are drawn to look down the long table to look the flowers, which naturally prompts guests to chat.

All Inclusive Wedding Venue in Michigan

We love Zingerman’s Cornman Farms for its breathtaking outdoor spaces! It’s nestled into Dexter, just outside Ann Arbor, Michigan. It’s no secret that we looooooove gardens, so the fact that there are all over the property filled with vegetables, herbs, flowers and more - it just feels like home and makes for some beautiful photo ops on your wedding day!

Before we worked here, we had no clue what to expect because the photos we saw didn’t make it seem like a farm. But we love working here! It’s the perfect place to get married because it’s an all in one venue with a space to get ready, and several options for ceremony and reception spaces.

We always suggest to our clients to choose a venue that has a space to get ready!

It’s probably surprising to hear coming from a florist, but in our opinion, it creates a much more relaxed wedding day. If your vendors have questions (like with this wedding where we were installing their flowers to the front of the farmhouse in between bouts of downpouring rain), you’re right there to answer them. The wedding party and families can float between designated areas or you can all just hang out together. Overall, we think this helps couples feel less stressed and more connected on a day that’s all about celebrating their love and being together.
